anglo saxon crayke hoard axe to original design & handle

a hand forged T axe nominally 6" long blade made from auto tempering steel (water quenched S275JR- 0.4% CEV), fully functional based on the finds from the crayke hoard (Yorkshire) late Anglo-Saxon period 950-1100AD and constructed to the original form, supplied disassembled for posting
made in Sheffield England by daegrad tools, a note on the steel we use;
Steel grade S275JR is a structural steel that meets the requirements of the EN 10025-2 standard. this steel has a carbon equivalent value of 0.4% carbon, all our S275JR steel products are water quenched ready to use and give an acceptable level of sharpness for woodworking use

not designed for use as an axe chisel, metalwork only head for a handle not longer than 14" 35cm
