a hand made wooden frame saw with distressed modern blade based on the depiction on a frieze depicting the Collegium Fabri Tignarii housed in the Centrale Montemartini in Rome, Accession number MC2743. constructed with an ashwood frame with roundwood beech arms with a wedgelock locking mechanism and central saw blade secured with adjustable hand forged steel rings allowing the cutting angle to be altered. possible reconstruction method based on known Roman design elements, fully functional woodworking tool, made in Sheffield England by Daegrad Tools, overall dimensions; 53cm long x 30cm wide with a 42cm long cutting blade. supplied with disassembled metalwork for posting
