a hand forged and water quenched S275JR steel tool of the Roman period (first half of the 3rd century), exact function unknown but it does conform to roman period lath splitters for producing strips of wood for wattle and daub; the splitting of green roundwood, nominally a 4" 10cm long blade, designed for living history reen\actment use. made in sheffield england by Daegrad Tools
